World Water Day, Saturday March 22, 2014. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Exploration Place
Members and friends are invited to participate in World Water Day on March 22 at Exploration Place Atrium. Prince George groups will share displays, educational presentations and demos, followed by films from the Travelling World Community Film Festival. The Prince George Naturalists Club will have an information display on the Hudson’s Bay Wetland and Clive will give a presentation on wetlands including the Hudson’s Bay Wetland. There is no admission charge.

BC Wildlife Federation is offering a 2.5 day Wetlandkeeper’s course in Prince George to educate local participants about wetland conservation. Topics include wetland mapping, wetland hydrology, amphibian, plant and animal identification, and soil sampling. Local partners include Spruce City Wildlife Association, Parks Canada and Prince George Naturalists Club.
This is a hands-on fieldwork course that provides participants with technical skills to steward their own wetland. Upon completion of the workshop, participants are provided with a Wetlandkeeper certificate and provided with follow-up support by the Wetlands Coordinator. More information about specific activities is coming soon. Early registration is advisable as seating is limited.
